How to convert HEIC to JPG

This tool depends on native HEIC decoding supplied by the current browser and operating system.

  1. Choose HEIC or HEIF photos from your device.
  2. If native decoding is available, review the detected dimensions; otherwise the file is rejected with a decoder-unavailable message.
  3. Set JPG quality, then start conversion.
  4. Preview and download each JPG copy that was successfully decoded.

HEIC and JPG explained

HEIC stores high-quality phone photos efficiently, while JPG works in a wider range of sites and apps.

  • Depth, burst, Live Photo motion, additional images, HDR/10-bit data and auxiliary metadata are not preserved in the JPG.
  • HEIC support varies by browser, operating system and file variant, and this build does not bundle a fallback decoder.

When to make a JPG copy

Use JPG when a destination rejects or cannot preview HEIC.

  • Uploading iPhone photos to forms, marketplaces or social platforms.
  • Sharing photos with Windows or Android apps that lack HEIC support.
  • Preparing a standard image for printing or email.

Keep a high-quality original

Use 90 or above for important photos, then keep the original HEIC as the archive copy.

  • Check skin texture, skies and low-light areas after conversion.
  • Color appearance can differ slightly because HEIC photos may use wider color information.

Phone photos stay private

Supported HEIC photos are decoded locally and are not uploaded for conversion.

  • Location and camera metadata are not sent to an external API.
  • Use the metadata remover on the resulting JPG before public sharing if needed.
